Process optimalization and 5S implementation in the manufacturing company PressMetal-CZ, Ltd

Bachelor's project deals with optimisation of industrial process using 5S method in a business unit, which was recently acquired by PressMetal-CZ, s.r.o. The first part of the project is focused on theoretical findings and description of each step of the method. The second part is concerned with the process of implementation of 5S method in the business unit. It consists of description and practical solution to the problem, calculation of costs and savings resulting from introduction of 5S method. Conclusion summarises achieved goals and contributions of this project.

This thesis deals with implementation of 5S methods in company focussed on production and processing of fiberglass. The theoretical part explains the basic principles of the philosophy of Kaizen. In the practical part is designed and implemented 5S methodology in the company. In conclusion, there are evaluated the benefits of application of the used method.

In this bachelor are described methods and technologies that the company uses in production. Based on the analysis, will be designed a concept of elimination the bottleneck and to improve the manufacturing process.

This diploma thesis deals with the modifications of workplace design and changesof the layout of the company’s production space using lean manufacturing tools. The first part of the thesis theoretically describes the terms like production process, organization of the workplaces, lean production and some methods of lean production. The practical part of the thesis describes the choosen company, analysis of the current production process and visual aids used in the production of the company. The design part contains a proposal for a new layout of the production hall, the introduction of the principles of the 5S method in the workplace and proposal for the use of visual management tools. At the end of the work, the benefits of the proposed options for the company are evaluated.

KAIZEN Application

The thesis analyses a problem of improving the work environment and all the sections of an organisation. In the first part, the genezis, methods, theory and practical examples of Kaizen philosophy and 5S method are presented. In the second part, there is an instruction to make a system of presenting proposals of employees and the possible forms of its realisation. I dealt with assessment and finacial valuation of the given proposals. Finally, I propose documents for keepimg standards and increasing efficiency of the 5S method in a certain workplace.

Návrh optimalizácie výrobného procesu vo vybranom podniku

This thesis deals with the optimization of the production process in a selected company. The aim is to suggest appropriate solutions to optimize production processes by using industrial engineering methods. The theoretical part is focused on Lean management, lean manufacturing and industrial engineering. The main part describes and evaluates the current state of the workplace. It contains miniaudits of the workplace, process analysis, images of the working day and Spaghetti diagrams, which are essential for development of proposals to improve the processes. These tools helped to identify and define the types of waste and their causes. Process optimization on the selected line of the company was conducted by workshop. This method is regarded as one of the fastest methods to solve problems which are not very time consuming and difficult.

Process Optimization of the Czech Branch of the International Company

The process management is the main topic of this thesis. In the beginning there is a description of the expressions related to the process management and improving of the company processes. The thesis is mostly oriented on the methodology of the potential of the process improvement. Anyway there are other methods and methodologies described in the thesis because they can be useful in further process improving. The second part is all about processes of small company. This company is introduced to the reader. There is description of the strategic goals and organizational structure. Next chapter describes process areas of the company. The priority and owners are connected to the areas. The chosen areas are described more in details and key activities are defined. The monitoring of the key activities of the most important process area resulted into analysis of the benefits of achieving the target state. In the last part there is description of activities and projects that shall remove the limits for achieving the goal. For all projects there is suggested implementation plan.
